2019 Fall Foray

Updated: Dec 8, 2019

The annual fall foray was a success, almost making up for the dry 2018 season. We had over 100 attendees, many coming to an MSU event for the first time.

We broke out into small groups for the foray, one of which was filmed by Adam Eakle of KSL Outdoors (see link below).

Back at the town hall in Francis, there was an art display, a workshop on making spore prints, a microscope station, 2 educational talks, and a dinner that featured some of the ample sarcodon imbricatus (shingled hedgehog) gathered.

DNA from some amanita muscaria (fly agaric) samples was sent to be sequenced by mycologist Bryn Dentinger at the University of Utah.
