About the event
Dr. Heather Root is leading this spring's microscopy workshop for all who are interested in learning how to observe fungi under a microscope.
Unlike last year's event, we will have student scopes and supplies for use for those who do not have their own microscope! Huge thank you to Dr. Root who is allowing us access to Weber's equipment. If you do have your own microscope, you are able to bring it—we encourage this so to spend quality time learning on the scope you'll continue to use at home. We also recommend that you bring specimen samples to observe, fresh or dried!
This workshop will teach you how to section ascos and basidos, prepare slides from fresh and dry samples, and evaluate the microscopic features of different fungal species.
