Fall Foray 2021
The Fall Foray 2021 registration is now full.
What is this event?
The MSU Fall Foray is a an annual multi-day event that includes camping, forays, mushroom displays, and potlucks. It's held at the peak of mushroom season, and allows members of the society to both learn from and enjoy one another's company in our mountains.
This year's Fall Foray will be held from August 20th-22nd at the Pine Valley Group Campground "C" on the Mirror Lake Highway. Unlike previous years, registration is online and can be found below. Kids are welcome.

Schedule of Events:
Friday, August 20th:

Leaders will arrive at camp at 3 p.m. and begin set up.

Potluck dinner at 7 p.m.
Saturday, August 21st:

Orientation and t-shirt pickup at 9:30

Foray groups will leave at 10 a.m.

Foray groups will return at ~2 p.m.

Mushroom drawing workshop at 2:30 p.m.

Table tour of mushrooms at 3:30 p.m.

Mushroom tasting at 4:30
-
Potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m.
Sunday, August 22nd:

Clean up and head home by noon.
Amenities:

There is no phone service, electricity or running water in the campground.

No RVs are allowed due to limited parking space.

There is very limited parking (25 cars). If you are able, please consider carpooling using this page (add a car in the top left corner):
What should you Bring?

Any camping gear, food and water for your group.

A dish for the Saturday night potluck

We will post updated fire information on this page. If fires are allowed, they can be in designated concrete fire rings only.

COVID-19:

Dispersed Camping for RVs:
While we don't have space inside the campground for RVs, below is a map of places nearby you can dry camp with you RV (highlighted on the map below in yellow). The yellow circle is the location of the campsite where the fall foray will take place.
